Cretatous Survival (Ash)

"Nervous" She admitted and sighed, looking up toward her mate, "Maybe the carnivores are already ahead of the herd... Our migration is late" She said quietly.

Scowler watched the herd begin to move out, a lot of trike's seemingly unsure of whether to stay with him, or follow the larger group, given there technically wasn't a switch of power through a fight. Scowler stayed on his feet now, aware of how much danger they would be in once alone, "how are you feeling?"

Patchy went to his mother for a quick goodbye before he and Ivy began heading out with the herd.

Trics watched their son and she sighed, laying her head on the ground.

Scowler nodded, for a moment he considered discussing the likelihood of him not returning, as a long Trike, it wouldn't take much for him to get picked off by a larger predator, but Scowler said nothing, turning and returning to Trics, he wasn't eager to make his son worry about anything else.

Patchy listened to him and gave a small nod, letting out a breath, "If you're sure... I wont stop you" He murmured softly.

Scowler approached his son, noticing Ivy but beginning the conversation regardless, "your mother and I are going to stay behind the herd, if she gets better, we intend to follow you, but if she gets worse, i'll be returning alone." Scowler told his son bluntly, unsure of how else to phrase it.

Patchy had been grazing with Ivy close at his side when he heard his father, letting him know where he was and he looked up, raising a brow as he didn't see his mother with his father.

While Skalk wasn't found of the idea of the two of them saying alone, holding Patchy's views: that he wouldn't be able to protect her from predators for long, he understood and agreed. Leaving Scowler, moving about the herd, calling his son so they could talk.

"Okay, I'll be here" She said quietly as she watched him, laying on her side, letting out a soft yawn as she grazed where she lay.

Scowler nuzzled her affectionately, standing up and stretching by shaking his frill. He huffed down to her softly, "I'm just going to go tell Patchy and Skalk our plan, i won't be gone long...call if theres any problems" he nibbled at his mate's frill and headed away from her quickly, eager to get back.

Trics seemed to have a bit easier time after walking for a bit, her legs stiff after sleeping, she started limping back toward her mate, rubbing against his side softly, flopping down and resting her head over his back, she seemed to have a harder time after sleeping for long periods, but after loosening her muscles up she seemed better.

Scowler watched her from their prior spot, analyzing her ability to walk and maneuver around.

She nuzzled him and made a move to walk toward the river, managing to get to the river and she lowered her head to get a drink.

Scowler stood immediately following his mates interest to stand, easing her up gently, nuzzling her softly.

She nuzzled him in return, pressing her face against his before she pressed against him to try and stand, giving a soft sound of pain, just trying to get up to go get a drink.

Scowler felt his mate stir, yawning loudly he looked up at his mate, although tiredly nuzzled her and laid his head back down.

Trics woke a while later, raising her head and looking about groggily, her eyes barely open.

Scowler was careful to keep his large body still following her mates request, seemingly taking it way too literally. Although he didn't mind, enjoying the close proximity, allowing his own eyes to close, at ease in the knowledge that no one would be able to approach his mate without waking him.

"No... Just stay like this" She murmured softly, resting her head on his horns and she gave a relaxed breath, she couldn't help but feel drowsy while in the comfortable position with her mate, "Maybe a nap.." She said quietly, her eyes drooping.

Scowler nuzzled into her softly, allowing himself to ease down next to her, resting his head under hers as he nosed the grass below them. "Would you like some leaves?" he asked, nuzzling her, eager to give her whatever she wanted.

Trics leaned into her mate's touch, giving soft sounds while she started grooming him in return, nipping at his frill softly and nuzzling him.

Scowler began to slowly groom his mate, nuzzling her every so often lovingly, although casting a look at the herd every so often, aware that he'd eventually have to inform Skalk and Patchy, but was unwilling to leave his mate for the moment.

Trics gave a breath and nuzzled him softly, rubbing her frill against his before she slowly lowered herself down, laying in the shade away from the herd, but she didn't mind, she'd never liked being so close to the herd anyway, especially at this time.

He nodded, although still maintained, she wouldn't get worse, unwilling to argue at the moment, as he nuzzled her, "Alright"

"Fine... But Scowler please promise if I get worse... You leave me before any predators come, please promise me" She pleaded, looking him in the eye.
